Our History

The Brimfield Evangelical Free Church was formed when a group of people within the community sensed a need for a church with a strong belief in the Bible and a desire to reach out to the community with the Good News of Jesus Christ.  On October 11, 1988 The Brimfield Christian Bible Study met for the first time in the Brimfield Bank community room.

With a strong desire to reach the children of the community and teach them the Word of God, a Sunday School superintendent was selected and a Sunday School was started one week later.

On June 6, 1989 it was decided to affiliate with the Evangelical Free Church of America (E.F.C.A.), an association of churches all sharing a common doctrinal statement.  This commitment to join the E.F.C.A. was finalized on August 27, 1989 when the congregation voted to change the name to the Brimfield Evangelical Free Church.  At that meeting 23 people were accepted as charter members of the Brimfield Evangelical Free Church.

On January 18, 1991 a call was extended to Rev. Donald Blasing and his family to become the first full-time pastor of our church.  He accepted that call and was installed as our pastor on April 28th.

Having outgrown the space available at the community room, we began meeting in the Brimfield Grade School cafeteria in October 1991.  We purchased land on Maher Road in 1997.  We broke ground in June 2002.  We began holding services in the fellowship hall of the new building in August 2003 and moved into the sanctuary in December 2003.

We believe God has called us to serve Him in Brimfield and the surrounding community.  We have seen His hand of blessing on our efforts.  We look forward to continuing to see God work through our church.

TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
